For guests, Flamingo Land’s beloved animal collection is sure to delight and amaze. See tigers from the frozen wastelands of Siberia, lions from Africa’s savannah and enjoy all the kids’ favourite farm animals from far closer to home. But remember, your trip isn’t complete without a visit to see the fl amingos. However, the zoo’s passion for animals runs far deeper than many would expect. From supporting an integrated conservation, research and education project in the Udzungwa Forest, Tanzania, to managing native wildlife protection in collaboration with David Bellamy, Flamingo Land takes its responsibilities seriously. The endangered species you’ll see are all part of international breeding programmes, whilst others are involved in studies to ensure their long-term future in the wild.
For those who want to do more than simply spectate, Flamingo Land offers a range of ways to get involved. For guests with drive and enthusiasm to match their passion for animals, the ‘Be A Zoo Keeper’ experience provides the chance to step behind the scenes and discover what’s really involved. Alternatively, for those who’d prefer a more leisurely approach, the ‘Zoo Safari’ gives you dedicated access to an experienced keeper for a journey packed with insight and fascinating facts. Finally, ‘Lemur Lunch Break’ is guaranteed to delight all animal fans – when feeding time arrives, you’re sure to be the centre of attention!
