Flamingo Land Tiger To Start New Life In France

by | Apr 5, 2016

A two-year-old Sumatran tiger born at the Flamingo Land Resort in North Yorkshire has moved to France.

Kuasa is starting a new life at the ‘Zoo de la Boissière du Doré’ close to Nantes in Western France.

The move is part of the European Endangered Species Programme (EEP) and follows the successful birth of three tiger cubs at Flamingo Land in March 2014.

The birth of Kuasa was a first for the zoo at Flamingo Land.

No more than 500 Sumatran tigers remain in the wild due to pressure from hunting and habitat loss.

Kuasa’s two sisters, Mentari and Bulan, will also be leaving North Yorkshire later in the year.
